As of January 1, 2022, Walt Disney World ended the Magical Express transportation service. As a frequent Disney goer and passenger of the Magical Express, we are sad to see it leave.

If you don’t know what the Magical Express was, it was free transportation that Walt Disney World provided for resort guests travelling to and from the airport. It allowed you to get off the plane without the need to grab your luggage and you could hop straight onto a Magical Express bus and it’d take you to your resort. We always found it very convenient and much less stress than having to rent a vehicle.

So, what’s replacing the Magical Express?

Mears Connect is replacing Magical Express, taking guests from the airport to the resort at an added cost. You have two options when choosing to travel with Mears Connect, Standard or Premium. You can book either service on the Mears Connect website.

Standard Service:

Prices

Per adult

Per child

One way

$16.00

$13.50

Round Trip

$32.00

$27.00

The standard service is similar to the Magical Express minus the added cost. It transports you via bus to and from the airport and resort, making a number of stops along the way to other resorts. Also, similar to how Magical Express operated, Mears Connect will arrive at the scheduled time at your resort to transport you back to the airport in time for your flight back home.

Premium Service:

Prices

Per adult

Round Trip

$200.00 (up to 4 passengers)

Per additional passenger

$55.00

The premium service offers direct transportation to and from the airport and resort with little to no wait time. This service is also scheduled to meet you at your resort to transport you back to the airport.

If Mears Connect isn’t for you, there are plenty of other options for you to choose from like renting a vehicle or taking an Uber.

Don’t worry though folks, not all transportation during your Walt Disney World trip will cost you money! Take advantage of the numerous on resort and in park transportation that Disney has to offer such as the buses that will take you to the parks and Disney Springs from your resort, the monorail, the Skyliner, and the boats.

Happy planning!
